BRISTOL GLOBE is our magazine whose idea is to introduce newcomers to the city and local citizens to their new neighbours. It is also about celebrating all the things and the people who bring the city to life as well as sharing lifestyles, achievements and ambitions.
It is hoped that BRISTOL GLOBE will inspire other Cities of Sanctuary to produce their own versions.
Local and national target audience
This free publication is directed towards opinion leaders, community organisations and the general public, including tourists, residents and visitors to the city. The 2012 new edition was launched at our Tea with the Lord Mayor at Mansion House on Wednesday 19th June 2013, an event organised to celebrate refugee week Day and to demonstrate the English custom of welcome and hospitality through a cup of tea and cake.
The first edition was published on 22 June 2011, to coincide with the celebration of Bristol’s new status as a City of Sanctuary and 2nd edition in 2012.
Both editions had a print-run of 3,000 per edition distributed through libraries, public service, voluntary, First Bus, community and cultural outlets as well as faith networks.
BRISTOL GLOBE features material raising awareness about the importance and value of diversity to the City, its arts, economy, history and social life and what a FANTASTIC and welcoming place Bristol is – in which to live, work, study or visit.
