We support important campaigns that will help to create a safer, more welcoming experience for people seeking sanctuary in Bristol and across the UK.

Here in the UK, people seeking refugee status are banned from working whilst they wait months, and often years, for a decision on their asylum claim.

Instead, they are left to live on just £7 per day.

We believe that people who have risked everything to find safety should have the best chance of contributing to our society and integrating into our communities. This means giving people seeking asylum the right to work.

Together, we believe we can #LiftTheBan and ensure that people seeking safety in the UK have the right to work. Click here to find out more and get involved.

How we treat refugees reflects who we are. At our best, we are welcoming to those facing difficult times. Yet too often people fleeing war, persecution or violence are treated with hostility in the UK, rather than compassion.

Together With Refugees brings together people and movements to stand against the divisiveness and hate directed at refugees. It will show that most people support a fairer, more effective and compassionate approach – and that refugees have always been part of the UK. It’s who we are

Word cloud of members of BRASP

BRASP (Bristol Refugee and Asylum Seeker Partnership) is a partnership between sixteen local organisations supporting people seeking sanctuary in the city.

In 2021, we worked with BRASP to challenge to the Nationality and Boarders Bill and its devastating impact on the rights of those seeking sanctuary. Read more about our work here.
