City of Bristol College Dig Deep to Raise Money

We are incredibly grateful to the students on ESOL courses at City of Bristol College for fundraising for our small charity. Over the course of a few months, they created and crafted, growing plants and making cards and other exciting things to sell. The result was raising an incredible £634 to split between us and our friends at Bristol Refugee Rights.

We were invited along to the College a few weeks ago to attend a cheque presentation. Afterwards, we were invited to their party and took part in a very nostalgic party game of pass the parcel…with a twist. Each layer unwrapped revealed a sweet and a forfeit, which led to all of us practically chucking the parcel when it reached us. Our Communications Officer, Anna, was very relieved that she did not have to try and attempt ten push ups!

Afterwards we were invited to feast on delicious food cooked by the students, sampling treats from the students’ home countries. It was a joyful event which embodied welcome and emphasised the importance of connections like this. Thank you so much to all at City of Bristol College for raising the money and for inviting us along to such a wonderful party.
