On Tuesday the 8th May 2012 at 19.30 “Songs of Embroidered Aprons, Toy Trains and Other Things,” a collaboration between Ros Cuthbert and and Knud Stüwe, will be premièring at St. Aidan’s Church in Bristol.
Technically perhaps best described as a cross between Song Cycle and secular Oratorio, this piece of theatre attempts to understand what it means to leave behind one’s homeland. It explores the very human stories of those people who have arrived in Britain, whilst also looking at the political and historical backdrop.
The exciting ensemble will consisit of Ros Cuthbert on Vocals; Knud Stüwe on guitar, organ and MD; Karen Street on accordion; Jane Cullins on the flute; Simon Leech on the oud and percussion and Julian Dale on the cell and double bass. A narrator is yet to be confirmed.
The tickets are £7 or £6 concession.
