Bristol University are offering students from refugee and asylum seeking backgrounds scholarships for their courses. Aimed at improving access to higher education for those who have sought sanctuary, the scholarships will provide full and partial funding to eligible students.
In the words of the university, the scholarship is for those who “may have always aspired to study at university but faced obstacles in achieving your goal. We understand, for instance, that your studies may have been interrupted, that you might not have evidence of your previous qualifications or that your qualifications aren’t transferable. It may be that you need additional English language tuition.”
This is a fantastic initiative, and a great opportunity for those wishing to pursue a university degree at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. For more information on how to apply and on eligibility, please visit the Bristol University page.
The deadline for applications is June 30th 2016.
