Reflections on Schools of Sanctuary in Bristol

In 2014, St Nicholas of Tolentine RC Primary School was officially recognised as one of our Schools of Sanctuary. The school, which is partnered with a school in Uganda, is a great example of what it means to be a School of Sanctuary; educating students about those seeking sanctuary, promoting an atmosphere of welcome and organising workshops and role plays to encourage empathy and understanding amongst students. The Global Learning Programme, of which St Nicholas is a member, wrote a report on the school, and their journey to becoming a School of Sanctuary, which you can read here.
